Ongole: BJP celebrates Atal Bihari Vajpayee birth anniversary with farmers

Ongole: The Bharatiya Janata Party's Ongole parliamentary constituency unit celebrated the 96th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee with farmers and interacted with them at the Aanganwadi centre in Pelluru village near Ongole on Friday.

The BJP state vice-president Ravel Kishore Babu participated as the chief guest to the programme and Ongole president Sirasanagandla Srinivasulu presided over the meeting. They paid rich tributes to Vajpayee by garlanding his photo with flowers. They praised the services of Vajpayee and said that though death may take politicians from the world, it cannot tamper the political history they were part of. They said that Vajpayee was the man behind the highways in the nation, licenses for mobile signals, Pokhran, bus service to Lahore, Kargil victory, and many other pride moments. They remembered that Vajpayee was not fancy of political power and that was why he had simply let go of the power when he was short of just one vote. They said that with a respect to Vajpayee, the union government is celebrating Good Governance Day on December 25.

The BJP leaders also explained farmers that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has deposited Rs 18,000 crores into the accounts of 9 crore farmers, including those from the state. They tried to convince the farmers of the necessity of the new farm laws by explaining the benefits with them. They said that it was the Modi government that was implementing the Swaminathan Commission recommendations, making sure that the farmers get a price over MSP, the crops were insured in time with various schemes and programmes.

BJP leaders Yogaiah, Meena Kumari, Kanumolla Raghavulu, YV Ashok Yadav, Madhu, Ummadisetty Nageswara Rao, Ravulapalli Nagendra Yadav, Ramisetty Hari, Kommu Srinivasulu, Satyavathi, Koteswaramma, and others also participated in the programme.
