Ongole: The BJP on Tuesday said that the Chief Minister has utilised all reasons to convince the public that he is trying to rule the State impartially, but failed in exhibiting the same by not arresting at least one miscreant in the 127 cases of attack and vandalism on temples and idols of deities.

Speaking at a press meet in Ongole, BJP State secretary Nagothu Ramesh Naidu demanded that the government give the right to investigate the vandalism cases and punish the culprits to the Hindu fraternity, if the police department is really paralyzed in the State.

Ramesh Naidu said that the government has made funny reasons for the burning of the chariot, damage of idols and statues until now, but the public is not in a mood to believe any of them. He demanded to know why the government is not taking the same action that it had taken on 64 persons who damaged window of a church, on the miscreants who attacked temples and Hindu deities in 127 incidents since YSRCP government formation.

He said that the Police department, which claims to one of the best in the country, is paralysed with unknown reasons in the investigation of the vandalism cases.

He alleged that the Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas has become dumb due to the domination of ministers and leaders from other religions in the YSRCP. He demanded the Minister to make a promise like the one he made to minorities, to Hindus also and provide security to temples and Hindu prayer places.

He alleged that the YSRCP and TDP tried to mimic religious sentiments at Ramatheertham with a premeditated agreement, but they are trying to block BJP from capturing the political vacuum in the State.

He said that both parties are trying to divert attention of the public using the attacks on temples from the real issues in the state, and are applying force on the BJP leaders who wanted to find out the truth by visiting the scene.

That is why the police gave permission to Viayasai Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu to visit the Ramateertham temple but house arrest the BJP AP president Somu Veerraju and other BJP leaders, he alleged.

He demanded the resignations of the home minister and endowments minister for their failure in the protection of temples and harmony between the communities.
