Ongole: The Prakasam district Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara ordered the district officials to act strictly in controlling the movement of people in all containment zones. He conducted a videoconference with the constituency level and mandal level officers on Thursday and ordered them to shun negligence in the implementation of government instructions in controlling the COVID-19.

The collector observed that the number of positive cases in the district rose to 230 in the district due to the return of people working in other states and districts. He said that they are maintaining 54 containment zones in the district and ordered the officials to strictly implement GO No 50 by doing teamwork at mandal levels. He said that they are announcing the area around 200m radius to the epicentre as the containment zone and calling another 200m area as the buffer zone. He ordered the officials to create awareness on Coronavirus among the public and provide essential goods and commodities to the locals by maintaining sanitation.

The collector informed the medical and health staff and volunteers to get ready for the sixth phase of the door to door survey. He observed that there are many discrepancies in the fifth phase survey and said that the real-time governance system revealed that 64 percent of the reports are filled in from one place. He ordered the officials to shift the family members of the positive case to the COVID center and keep the contacts in home isolation. He ordered them to record the details of RMP and private health clinics in all villages in the apps provided by the government.

Joint Collectors J Venkata Murali, TS Chetan, K Narendra Prasad, DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, OSD Chowdeswari, DMHO Dr Appalanaidu, APVVP district coordinator Dr Usharani, ZP CEO T Kailash Giriswar, and other officers also participated in the meeting.
