Ongole: Housing beneficiary Anantha Lakshmi gets pat from PM Modi

Ongole: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated Mandalapu Anantha Lakshmi, whose house was selected for the award under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)- Best House Construction category by the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs. The Prime Minister also appreciated Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the distribution of housing plots to the poor and preparing to construct houses.

In the video conference with the Chief Minister, officials and award-winning beneficiaries under PMAY scheme throughout the country on Friday, the Prime Minister announced that the union government is constructing pucca houses to all poor in the country under PMAY scheme.

Appreciating Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Prime Minister announced that they would benefit many poor by making few changes in the policy. The collector Dr Pola Bhaskara presented the PMAY- Best House Construction Award to Mandalapu Ananthalakshmi in the video conference. The collector appreciated the woman for bringing fame to the district.

He announced that about 1.33 lakh poor families in the district are being provided housing pattas and houses for 84,027 of them would be constructed by the government.

Joint collector TS Chetan, Kandukur sub-collector Bharagav Teja, housing PD Sainath, NIC coordinator Venkata Subbaiah and others also participated in the programme.
