Ongole: Inter-polytechnic Sports Meet begins

Ongole: The 24th state-level inter polytechnic sports and games meet started in a much fanfare in the PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences in Ongole on Monday. The Education Minister Dr. Adimulapu Suresh, Darsi MLA and PACE college Chairman Dr Maddisetty Venugopal, secretary and correspondent Dr Maddisetty Sridhar, Andhra University RJD J Satyanarayana Murthy, Sri Venkateswara University RJD V Padmarao, DEO VS Subbarao, DSDO and Chief Coach of Prakasam district B Srinivas, AP Polytechnic Physical Directors Association president B Raghunatha Reddy, engineering college principal Dr M Srinivasan, polytechnic college principal J Sivanagaraju and others participated in the program and appreciated the teams from all 13 districts of the state. They inaugurated the sports and games meet by lighting the torch and launched the poster for the 3rd All India South Zone Polytechnic Sports and Games Meet.

On the first day, Nellore won against Anantapur, East Godavari won against Vizianagaram and West Godavari won against Kadapa in the boys' volleyball games while Srikakulam won against West Godavari girls volleyball team. In the Kabaddi boys, Visakhapatnam won against Prakasam, Kurnool won against Srikakulam team. In Kho Kho girls, Chittoor won against Anantapur, Nellore won against Srikakulam, Kadapa won against Vizianagaram team.
