Ongole: NG Ranga remembered on his 25th death anniversary
Ongole: The Acharya Ranga Kisan Samstha observed the 25th death anniversary of the 'Father of the Indian Peasant Movement' Acharya NG Ranga here on Tuesday.
Samstha president Alla Venkateswara Rao, vice-president Namineni Mohan Rao, secretary Chunchu Seshaiah, members Karumudi Srimannarayana, Nadendla Chandrasekhar, Mandava Srinivasa Rao, Gundavarapu Koteswara Rao, Nannuru Nageswara Rao, Dhulipalla Veeranarayana, president of Development Forum for Socio-economic Change in Prakasam district Chunduri Ranga Rao, farmers leader K V V Prasad and others garlanded the statue of NG Ranga at the Ongole Agriculture Market Yard.
They remembered Acharya NG Ranga as the father of the Indian Kisan movement, who toiled his entire life and made sacrifices for the cause of farmers and other downtrodden communities. They said that Ranga fought against any injustice to the oppressed classes. They said that Ranga was one of the first to rouse political awareness among the farmers in the country and that is why he would be remembered forever.
