Ongole: Tailors laud Jagananna Chedodu scheme
Ongole: The Navyaandhra Tailors Workers Welfare Association members lauded the Jagananna Chedodu scheme introduced by the state government to offer financial assistance of Rs 10000 per year to tailors, Nayi Brahmins and Rajaka workers.
In the press meet held in Ongole on Monday, the association president Kanugula Nageswara Rao said that the State government has ordered the backward classes welfare department to provide Rs 10000 per year for five years to the tailors. He said that about 11 lakh people in the state are dependent on the tailoring profession and advised them to register for the scheme as beneficiaries and avail financial assistance.
While lauding the Chief Minister for the introduction of the scheme, Nageswara Rao requested the government to also consider for the provision of few more benefits. He asked the Chief Minister to provide 200 units of electricity for free, old-age pensions for 50 years and above aged tailors, health cards and monetary assistance to pregnant tailors in the state. He also requested the government to establish a tailoring institute in every assembly constituency for the new learners and skill development of the experienced tailors.
The association vice president Sk Nagoor, state leaders VM Rao, B Nageswara Rao, Sk Hussain, Sk Srinu Basha, Sk Mastan, Sk Subhani, Sk Khasim, B Srikanth and others also participated in the meeting.
