Ongole: Telugu Desam Party leaders demanded the district election officer and collector to change the colours of the public properties
Ongole: The Prakasam district Telugu Desam Party leaders demanded the district election officer and collector to change the colours of the public properties like village panchayat buildings, schools, road dividers, electric poles and others immediately from the colours of the YSR Congress Party flag.
They also advised the collector not to involve the village volunteers and secretariat staff in the smooth conduct of local body elections.
The delegation of TDP leaders led by the former ZP chairman and TDP state secretary Nukasani Balaji, Yarrakula Srinivasa Rao, Kamepalli Srinivasa Rao, Kotari Nageswara Rao, Gurrala Raj Vimal, and Yeddu Sashikanth Bhushan and others explained that after the general elections, the YSRCP led government painted the public properties in the colors of their party flag in over-excitement including its election symbol embarrassing the democratic values.
They said that as per the model code of conduct, the colors on the public properties are a clear violation and demanded to order immediate change of the colors of the buildings. They also explained that they learned about the involvement of village volunteers and village secretariat staff in the conduct of local bodies elections and objected to the proposal.
