Onion prices fell in Kurnool Market as the Vigilance officials put a break for exportation
Onion prices fell to Rs. 8600 per quintal from 12000 in Kurnool markets on Saturday with fresh supplies arrived from Maharashtra and Karnataka. With imports from Egypt too reaching the market. The traders expect the prices to remain less for the next few days.
The prices have also come down with the vigilance officials stopping the exportation of the onion to other states. The officials have seized few trucks in this connection.
Due to the incessant rains in the season there ha a huge deficit in the onion across the country with the prices reaching Rs. 200 mark. The people have expressed their resentment over the prices and issue reached the parliament. On the other hand, the government his selling onion for Rs 25 per kg.
