Opposition legislators decry 'atrocities' against weaker sections in Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati: The TDP MLAs and MLCs led by party chief and Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu took out a rally up to the Assembly premises on Thursday in protest against the 'deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The wore face masks and observed coronavirus guidelines while participating in the rally. Former minister Nara Lokesh wore shackles on his hands to symbolically show how a diabolical regime was ruling the state. TDLP deputy leader K Atchannaidu, former minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa and others were present.
The TDP legislators alleged that never before in the 67 years history of Andhra Pradesh such attacks and humiliations were perpetrated on the weaker sections and the backward classes. The state became a Ravana Kashtam (an ever burning Ravana's pyre) as the lawless YSRCP leaders turned Andhra Pradesh into Arachaka (anarchic) Pradesh, they said.
Stating that three tonsure incidents took place in three months in three districts, the TDP leaders said that one Vikram was murdered in Gurazala in a very heartless manner. Kiran Kumar in Chirala was killed just for not wearing the face mask. Dalit doctors Dr Sudhakar and Dr Anitha Rani and Dalit judge Justice Ramakrishna were subjected to insults and nonstop humiliations, they said.
