Our's is not party of suitcases, Pawan Kalyan taunts Jagan
Kakinada: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan castigated Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy that Jana Sena was not a suitcases' party like YSRCP and he would fight for the welfare of farmers until they got remunerative prices for their crops.
He observed one-day relay fast from morning to evening to highlight the farmers' issues here on Thursday. Addressing the gathering after concluding the fast, Pawan Kalyan said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and 150 MLAs should pay attention to the problems of farmers and provide remunerative prices, instead of abusing him unnecessarily.
He said that as an opposition party, he was raising many issues to draw the attention of the government for their solution. "If YSRCP wants to abuse me, I will come to them alone and all the 151 MLAs can abuse him in private, but, they should address the farmers' issues," he said.
He said Sir Arthur Cotton won a place in the hearts of farmers in two Godavari districts by building a barrage and Jagan too win that honour by doing good works instead of abusing opposition parties. He said that the bankers who extended loans liberally to corporates who default, should give loans to the farmers without fear since farmers were people of self-respect and clear loans at any cost.
He said that the government should extend NREGS to the agriculture sector to bring down the cost of cultivation as the small and medium farmers were unable to make use of mechanisation.
