Outgoing High Court CJ urges judiciary to enhance reputation of court

Amaravati: The AP High Court Chief Justice, Justice JK Maheswari, who was transferred to Sikkim High Court, appealed to judicial officials to strive hard to increase the reputation of High Court.

A farewell programme was organised and Justice Maheswari was felicitated by High Court full court on Monday.

Replying to his felicitations, Justice Maheswari said he is very happy for serving as Chief Justice of AP High Court. He said that he made efforts to increase the reputation of High Court with the cooperation of other judicial officials. He said that he hails from a middleclass family and reached the present position.

The chief justice said that state level judicial officers conference was organized and several cases were settled through videoconference. Speaking on the occasion, High Court judge C Praveen Kumar said that Justice Maheswari made several efforts to solve cases through Lok Adalat during Covid pandemic.

Justice U Durgaprasada Rao said Justice Maheswari established his mark by rendering good services.

Registrar Judicial Rajasekhar said that as many as 4,620 cases were settled during Justice Maheswari period. As many as 90,407 cases of subordinate courts were settled during the time. Of the total 1,26,084 cases registered during Covid pandemic 18,933 cases were settled.
