Padmavathi Nilayam opened at Tiruchanoor

Tirupati: TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed rest house Padmavathi Nilayam at Tiruchanoor built at a cost of Rs 74.70 crore. The 8-floor new complex spread over 4.26 lakh sq feet houses a spiritual library, five dormitories (4 Non-Ac and one A/C), cellar parking for 135 cars, 200 rooms (120 non-A/C and 80 A/C to accommodate 1,800 persons.

On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Chairman offered prayers to the photo of Bapuji in building and recalled his sacrifices in freedom struggle.

Earlier, he also laid foundation stone to the four-lane road works taken up by TTD from Alipiri to Cherlopalli junction at a cost of Rs 28 crore to ease congestion on the busy bypass road linking Chittoor and Bengaluru highway.

CE Ramachandra Reddy, SEs Ramesh Reddy, Sriramulu and others were also present. Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy, JEO P Basant Kumar and CE Ramachandra Reddy were present.

He also inaugurated the newly constructed Matrusri Vakulamata Rest House in Tirumala. Constructed at a cost of Rs 42.86 crore, the five-storied complex has 54 rooms in each floor and accommodates 1,400 devotees.

Later the Chairman also laid foundation stone to PAC 5 located on the back of Govardhan Choultry (PAC 1) at Tirumala.

The complex will come up at a cost of Rs 79 crore and will be constructed in one-and-a-half-year time.

Speaking to media persons, he said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed to open the Vakulamata Rest House to cater to the needs of pilgrims during Brahmotsavams. Both the rest houses will reduce the accommodation woes of devotees, he added.
