Tirupati: Panel to be set up to verify the content of TTD books

Tirupati: Rattled by the finding of its book with other religious propaganda placed on the web, the TTD hurriedly withdraw the book from the website on Monday.

The book is titled 'Bhakti Geetamrutha Lahari.' The book located on the TTD website went viral with national media telecasting the book with other religious propaganda while in the social media people started slamming the TTD for its negligent attitude of placing such books without any verification.

At a press conference held at the TTD Administrative Building here on Monday evening, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal admitted that some of the pages in the book written by Meda Chinna Seetharamaiah, Daveleswaram of East Godavari district with TTD's financial support was found having other religious content. The author in an effort to make a comparison of different religions wrote about Christianity.

The book was published in 2007 and was placed on the website by the TTD recently as part of its propagation of Sanathana Hindu Dharma and providing easy access to the books to the devotees all over the world.

Following the finding of the book with other religious propaganda, the TTD decided to screen the content of all the books placed on the web and also the books published with its financial support.

A committee will also be set up to verify the content from beginning to end, he said affirming that the TTD will not allow any such books that directly or indirectly promote or glorify other religions.
