Participate in social service activities, students told
Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor Prof P Suresh Varma has advised NSS volunteers to participate in social service activities with commitment and dedication.
Participating in the NSS golden jubilee celebrations held on the campus premises here on Tuesday, he said the students should inculcate the habit of serving the needy in society during student life.
Students were future citizens of the country and they should play pivotal role in the development of the country, which is the need of the hour. NSS is the right forum for social service activities, he averred.
University Registrar Prof S Teki said with 290 NSS units, AKNU was having the largest NSS unit in the State. Along with studies, the students should also take up social service activities with the inspiration of great social activist Mother Teresa who served the needy until her last breath, he said. NSS coordinator Dr BJ Jioya Rani and others were present.
