Pass resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act: CPI leader K Ramakrishna

Guntur: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna on Friday demanded that the state government pass a resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) immediately.

Addressing a meeting at Mudu Bommala Centre here, he said that to mount pressure on the state government to achieve this demand, they will conduct a Chalo Assembly programme very soon.

He further said that so far five states passed resolutions against NRC, CAA and NPR.

The Chief Ministers of 13 states have already announced that they would not implement NRC, CAA and NPR, he added.

He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to dilute the Constitution.

Indian Union Muslim League national president Mohiddeen demanded that the BJP government respect the Constitution.

Earlier, they took out a rally against CAA, NRC and NPR.

MLA Mustafa, CPI Guntur city secretary Jangala Ajay Kumar, city secretary Kota Malyadri were among those participated.
