Pawan criticises govt over burdensome sand policy
Vijayawada: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan criticised the state government for not formulating a proper and people-friendly sand policy. He made these remarks while visiting sand stock points at Navuluru village in Mangalagiri mandal on Friday.
On the occasion, he said that he would react on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's 100 days rule on Saturday. The Jana Sena chief said sand was not available bringing all the building works to a halt in midway and throwing lakhs of construction workers onto the roads.
"Though the government fixed price of sand at Rs 375 per tonne, but nearly Rs 600 is being charged from the public. The new policy imposed more financial burden on the people. There is a huge difference between the Jagan's statements and the implementation of transparency in governance," he observed.
Former Speaker and Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar said that the building workers had been facing hardships for the last three months. He wondered as to how the state government announced that it would supply sand at cheaper prices. The sand is not available in the state and the people are more troubled to get it, he said.
