Pawan fast to mount pressure on State govt, says Jana Sena
Kakinada: Jana Sena leader Pantam Nanaji said the 12-hour fast to be taken up by party chief Pawan Kalyan on December 12, named Rythu Soubhagya Deeksha, was aimed at highlighting the plight of farmers and mount pressure on the state government to act.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Nanaji lashed out at agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu for being insensitive to the problems farmers and added that there were many discrepancies between the statistics regarding Rythy Bharosa given by the minister and officials.
Referring to the statement of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Assembly on Monday to the effect that rape accused should be punished in one month, the Jana Sena leader said that the Assembly should also fix a time-frame for punishment of persons involved in money laundering and other economic offences.
Party Mummidivaram Assembly in-charge Pithani Balakrishna said that the state government had miserably failed in curbing onion prices which touched Rs 200 in open market.
He said that though the state government was supplying onions at Rs 25 a kg at Rythu Bazaars, due to long queues many people were unable to get them. He called upon the people to attend Pawan Kalyan's fast at Kakinada in large numbers.
