Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan demanded that everyone condemn the demolition of the statue of Kodandaram on Bodhikonda located in Vizianagaram district's Ramateertham temple. He said that it is distressing to see the manner in which the idol was destroyed and beheaded. He has expressed anger over Andhra Pradesh government over destruction of idols and temple chariots for over a year.

He said that demolition of the idol of Lord Rama and taking away part of his head was not an act of insanity. He criticized the state government for being negligent on the Pithapuram, Konda Bitragunta and Antarvedi incidents. That is why the historic temple is said to have been cut down.

Pawan criticized the state government for not catching the culprits behind the burning of the Antarvedi Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy chariot till now. He was incensed that the idol of Rama was destroyed in AP at this time when the construction of Rama Mandir in Rama Janma Bhoomi Ayodhya was going on. He questioned why the chief minister was not responding if attacks on Hindu temples were on the rise. He was told to respect the gods no matter what his religious beliefs were.

He was incensed that the attacks on Hinduism were going according to a plan. It is unfortunate that the ministers greeted the Chief Minister from the holy shrine Tirumala on the occasion of the other religion festival. He appealed to the Union Home Ministry to focus on the year-long attacks on temples in the state. Pawan demanded an inquiry with the CBI into the series of incidents.
