People rejected Naidu's drama on Amaravati capital: Dronamraj Srinivasa Rao
Visakhapatnam: Chairman of VMRDA Dronamraj Srinivasa Rao said on Saturday that the 'drama' enacted by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his party in opposing the decentralised administration, equal justice and development of all regions has been rejected by people across 13 districts in the state.
He said the TDP's call to involve NRIs to extend their support to retain Amaravati as capital has been termed as 'farce.'
"Not even 200 persons are protesting in Amaravati against the three-capital move. But only Naidu has brought people from abroad to safeguard his real estate interests. But people are not worried about it," the VMRDA Chairman said.
Though born in Rayalaseema, Dronamraj Srinivasa Rao said, Naidu had never done anything to bring water or safeguard the self-respect of Seemandhra people or initiated any welfare measures.
"There was no question of developing the North Andhra region during Naidu's regime. When the present government decided to make the biggest city in the state as executive capital, Naidu approached the court. Kurnool, the first capital of AP, was made as judicial capital by the present government but Naidu is putting spokes into the project, thus emerging as a traitor of all the regions. That is the reason why people have shown him his right place in the general elections. However, Naidu has not changed his attitude and continues to provoke people to block the development of other regions," Srinivasa Rao mentioned.
Even in Krishna and Guntur districts, Srinivasa Rao said people believed that development should focus on all fronts and uplift the downtrodden through welfare measures rather than confining to real estate business.
