Photo exhibition on Gandhi statues inaugurated in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A photo exhibition of statues of Mahatma Gandhi erected worldwide, organised jointly by Photo India, Gandhi Kshetram (Avanigadda) and the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati (CCVA), was inaugurated by Dr Mandali Buddha Prasad, Chairman, Gandhi Kshetram, Avanigadda.
He said that the simple life that Gandhi led with sincere commitment won worldwide recognition and to commemorate such a great personality, many countries have erected the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, depicting various phases of his life.
K.Satyanarayana, IG,PTO, M Bhupal Reddy, Principal Commissioner Income Tax, Dr KPC Gandhi, Chairman, AP Gandhi Smaraknidhi, Satwik Chukkapalli, Chairman, YI – Amaravati and Golla Narayana Rao participated in the programme.
Dr T Srinivasa Reddy, Photo India, who designed the exhibition, said that he was thoroughly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi statues he visited in South Africa, London and USA.Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA, coordinated the inaugural session.
