Plea to set up SR Sankaran statue

Guntur: Dalit Bahujan Front national general secretary Melam Bhagya Rao requested Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam to take steps to set up bronze statue of former IAS officer SR Sankaran who worked to uplift the Dalits in the Secretariat at Amaravati and submitted a memorandum to him.

LV Subrahmanayam replied that at present election code of conduct is in force. After lifting the election code of conduct, he will take further steps. Melam Bhagya Rao was accompanied by Secretariat SC/ST Employees Association president Bonju Babu and secretary Katti Babu.
