PM insurance schemes to be popularised in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Ram Bharosa, who took charge recently as the chief postmaster general of Andhra Pradesh circle, launched the campaign 'Operation Connect—India Post with Mission Prosperity' which would start with conducting mega melas in the entire circle beginning Friday.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Ram Bharosa said that people would be encouraged to open new postal and India Post Payment Bank savings accounts. Likewise, the schemes like Atal Pension Yojana, pension scheme for general public, Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana, accident insurance scheme with a mere premium of Rs 12 per annum, Prime Minister Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana, insurance scheme for the death of any kind with a premium of Rs 330 per annum should be taken to the people.
He also said that eligible citizens should be encouraged to go for Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance schemes. He said that during these melas, door-to-door campaigns, rallies, public meetings will be held in every postal division to promote postal and PM Schemes. He appealed to people to utilise the opportunities and join in postal savings schemes.
