PM Modi's comment on Mother Tongue at Mann Ki Baat is a set back to Jagan's govt

The AP government has decided to make English medium compulsory in public schools. A notification has been issued to introduce the English Medium from the 2020-21 academic year to the 1st to 8th grade, the class II to the 10 to 2021-22 academic year, and the tenth grade in 2022-23. Modi recalls that the United Nations Council has also recognized the importance of mother tongues and therefore declares this year an 'International Mother Tongue Year'. The efforts of the Rang people in the Uttarakhand region of Daruchula to protect their spoken language 'Ranglo' is commendable. Up to ten thousand people are known to have formed WhatsApp groups and are very involved in language development. Modi suggested that this should be an inspiration to all and that they should start using their language and their slang.
