Police attacks on illegal liquor houses in AP, seize large quantity of Jaggery

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued a new ordinance to curb the production of Natusara in the state. As per the orders of state DGP Gautam Sawang, the police and Directorate of Enforcement officers have held raids at all Natu Sara (Gudumba) production centres.

The raids have begun at 4 am on Wednesday with the coordination of the Police and Excise Department. A total of 10,000 police personnel were involved in these attacks with additional SPs, DSPs, probationary IPSs, CIs, SIs and other police personnel.

Upon the information of production of Natu Sara in Guntur district, the police have held searches and destroyed large quantities of jaggery. The attacks are continuing all over the state to restrict the distribution of alcohol and money in local body elections.
