Police Commemoration Week to be held at all police stations from tomorrow

Chittoor: SP S Senthil Kumar said that Police Commemoration Week will be observed in all police stations from October 15 to 21 in the district and Police Commemoration Day will be held on Oct 21 to recollect the sacrifices of deceased police men. The meeting will be held at DPO police parade grounds in the town, he said.

Addressing media persons here on Sunday, the SP said rallies will be organised, blood donation camps, health camps, workshops and police friendly meetings will be held during the week. ``On October 21, 1959, ten Indian CRPF soldiers lost their lives in India –China war.

In order to recollect their sacrifice , it has been decided to hold Police Commemoration Day on every year on October 21 in the country, " he recalled. He reiterated that the role of the police in the society is very crucial and the relation between the police and the public should be friendly.
