Vijayawada: Krishna district police focused on the sensitive villages and areas in the towns in the district to avoid post-poll violence and to prevent untoward incidents. The district police identified two villages in the district where some incidents have took place.

The district police have already chalked out a plan to visit the villages to regulate law and order situation up to counting date. As per plans, the district police have decided to book bind-over cases against the suspected faction group leaders and anti-social elements. The police personnel are suggesting the villagers not to discuss anything about the election related matters.

The district police also formed special teams to take action against the betting gangs. The police are taking steps to provide special protection to women and control thefts during the summer season. They also introduced technology to avoid thefts. Now the police want to create awareness among people on the technology which can alert them if a thief makes an attempt to enter the house.

Krishna district Superintendent of Police Sarvasresht Tripati directed the police officials to provide all security measures to avoid any violence in the villages. He also instructed them to solve disputes among groups by conducting interactions. The SP instructed them to conduct cordon search and checks at various villages and towns across the district.

Meanwhile, the SP congratulated the police staff for successfully completing the election duties. He asked them to continue the team work with coordination to get good results. He further thanked the people for extending cooperation for peacefully conducting the election.

He directed them to continue 'wash and go programme' to bring awareness among the late night drivers to wash their face and move forward to avoid accidents. The police should alert the drivers to move forward only after washing the face with water, he added.
