Police hold Athmeeya Sammelanam for Agency tribals

Kakinada: The police organised the 'Atmeeya Sammelanam' programme in the interior tribal village of Kamantogu at Yetapaka in East Godavari district on Thursday. Chintur Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Amit Bardar said that the agency villagers and created self-help groups among them for their development.

Three self-help groups have been formed to create an environment of dialogue within the village and with the government institutions. He said that these self-help groups will primarily focus on primary education, skill development and local self-employment.

In the medical camp organised under the programme, doctors also created awareness about vector borne and water borne diseases and general hygiene. And they distributed books, study material, sports kits to the children and the youth. Blankets were given to the elderly and clothes were distributed to all who attended.

Chinturu SDPO Khadar Basha, Circle Inspector of Police JFK Hanish, Sub-Inspector Chinni Babu, Jwala Sagar and others participated in the programme.
