Police Officers Association objects to Chandrababu Naidu outbursts
Vijayawada: Taking strong exception to the comments of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, honorary president of AP Police Officers Association Narreddi Chandrasekhar Reddy said here on Thursday that it was nothing but encouraging people to disobey and misuse of laws to prod people to file criminal cases against the police.
He said that it was highly deplorable that Chandrababu Naidu who was three times chief minister should talk like that through video conference.
It is unbecoming of the former chief minister to cast aspersions on the police who have been extending exemplary service to the people. The former chief minister is aware that whoever supports crimes is also a criminal, Chandrasekhar Reddy said.
The police department has been using the latest technology in the service of the common people and weaker sections, he pointed out.
When the police department has won laurels at the national level, it is not proper to accuse the director general of police in particular and the police department in general, he said. The honorary president said that the police were not afraid of such threats but the comments betrayed the irresponsibility of the former chief minister.
