Police recover huge cache of explosives in Kakinada

Kakinada: A police party headed by Peddapuram DSP A Srinivasa Rao on Friday conducted a raid at a house in Jonnaladoddi village and recovered huge cache of chemical explosives being used for manufacturing fireworks.

B Apparao, a resident of Jonnaladoddi village, was taken into custody for questioning in this connection, the DSP said. Speaking to media, he said the police team found 121 bags of sulphur, 11 bags of aluminum and other ingredients needed for manufacturing of firecrackers for Deepavali.

The DSP said the police conducted the raid in Jonnaladoddi village based on tip-off that Apparao was manufacturing firecrackers illegally. In the incident, the police seized explosives material worth Rs 4 lakh and registered a case. RDO G Chinni Kirishna also visited the village.
