Police seized Rs 88.22 lakh gold in Dhone

Kurnool: The Dhone police have seized Rs.88.22 lakhs besides one kilogram of gold. As part of implementation of the election model code of conduct the police department is conducting vehicle checking at check posts arranged across the district.

During the course of vehicle checking conducted at Dhone on Wednesday morning, the police detected one kilogram of gold and a hard cash of Rs.88.22 lakhs.

The person carrying them failed to show evidential proofs, said Dhone DSP, Khader Basha. The amount and gold was seized and the same would return on production of proper proof, added the DSP.
