Power supply to flood-hit villages restored: APEPDCL
Dwaraka Tirumala: The APEPDCL Jangareddigudem division has restored power supply to 45 villages affected by floods, according to B Suresh Kumar, divisional engineer. Initially, they ensured water supply and lighting with the help of generators as per the directions of Collector R Muthyala Raju.
Under the leadership of Eluru SE Y Suryapratap, the 25 APEPDCL staff went to marooned villages on country boats and restored the supply lines by August 11. The power supply was affected to 19 agency villages under Polavaram-Kondrukota power supply line since July 31. Another 26 villages under Velerupadu-Koida power supply line were also plunged into darkness because of floods.
The APEPDCL officials with the cooperation of MLA Balaraju and others restored power supply to 19 villages in Polavaram mandal and to restore power supply to 24 villages under Velerupadu by August 5 amid rains and floods, the divisional engineer added.
