Prakasam Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara directed officials Arrange relief centres for migrants at entry points

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara directed the officials to make all arrangements including food, shelter and transport to the migrants walking to their native places.

In a review meeting conducted with the officials on Sunday, the Collector instructed the officials to make arrangements at 10 entry points into the district viz Pamur, Chevuru, Eepurupalem, Martur, Santhamaguluru, Tripuranthakam, Diguvametta, Giddalur, Dornala, and Allinagaram in Komarole mandal to identify and register the migrant coolies and arrange food counters for them. He advised them to run relief centres at Chirala Engineering College and St Ann's Engineering College in Chirala, Malineni Lakshmaiah Engineering College in Singarayakonda, Social Welfare Residential School in Singarakonda, Kasturi Ba school in Yerragondapalem, AP Balayogi Residential Girls Hostel at Giddalur as relief centres and make necessary arrangements for them.

He ordered the education department to depute Hindi pundits and other language known persons at the entry point to communicate with the migrants. He said that the workers going to Odisha would be transported in RTC buses while the people to other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh would be put on special trains.

SP Siddharth Kaushal, JC1 J Venkata Murali, JC2 TS Chetan, JC3 K Narendra Prasad, trainee collector Suraj Dhanunjay, DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, and other officers also participated in the meeting.
