Prakasam District Electoral Officer released election notification

Ongole: The Prakasam district collector and electoral officer Vadarevu Vinay Chand released the election notification for the Ongole, Bapatla parliament and 12 assembly constituencies in the district on Monday.

The electoral officer announced that the nominations for the parliament and assembly constituencies will be received from March 18, Monday to March 25, Monday on all working days between 11 AM and 3 PM. On March 26, the nominations will be verified and the candidates can withdraw them up to March 28.

For Ongole parliament constituency, the collector is the returning officer and accepts nominations in his chamber while for the Bapatla parliament constituency, the nominations will be received by the returning officer and joint collector S Nagalakshmi in her chamber.

For assembly constituencies with divisional headquarters like Ongole, Markapuram, Kandukur nominations will be received at the RDO office while the nominations for the remaining assembly constituencies will be received at the tahsildar office of the respective constituency headquarters.

As of Sunday, the total electors in the district are 2578704 including 1295664 women, 1282898 men, and 142 third gender voters. The election commission has arranged a total of 3294 polling booths in the 12 assembly constituencies for assembly and general elections.
