Prakasam district totally observes Bharath Bandh

Ongole : The Bharat Bandh, called by the farmers' organisations, supported by various political parties and workers unions, received a good response from the public, merchants and other commercial establishments in the Prakasam district on Monday.

As the government also extended support to the Bandh, the schools were closed and the APSRTC limited the buses to the depots up to the afternoon, while the collectorate and other central government organisations continued to work on the day.

With the demands of abolishing the three farm laws, cancelling the amendments to workers laws and aborting the process of disinvestment in Vizag Steel Plant, ports, airports and other public sector units, the farmers' bodies like Samyukt Kisan Morcha and its members, the Opposition parties including the left parties, TDP, workers unions like CITU, AITUC, public fronts like BC Sangham, AIDWA, POW, and Dalit organisations in the district participated in the Bharat Bandh at Ongole, Chirala, Parchuru, Inkollu, Kanigiri, Giddalur and other places.

The leaders of the political parties, farmers' organisations, public fronts organised a massive rally from the flyover in Kurnool Road to the collectorate through the RTC Bus Stand, Addanki Bus Stand Centre, Bapuji Market Complex, Trunk Road, Church Centre and organised a protest.

All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee district coordinator Chunduri Rangarao presided over the meeting, while the CPI district secretary ML Narayana, CPM district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu, TDP leaders Ravula Padmaja, Kamepalli Srinivasa Rao, Dr Gurrala Raj Vimal, M Srinivasa Rao, Kotari Nageswara Rao, AP Kisan Congress vice president Vallamreddy Rajagopal Reddy, POW AP general secretary B Padma, PDSU AP vice president L Rajasekhar, OPDR AP vice president Chavali Sudhakar, CITU district general secretary Chikati Srinivasa Rao, AITUC district general secretary PVR Chowdary, Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham district secretary V Hanumareddy, AP Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham district secretary K Anjaneyulu, AP Vyavasaya Coolie Sangham district secretary S Lalita Kumari and others participated and spoke in the programme.

The speakers extended support to the farmers agitating in Delhi and demanded the Union government to withdraw the three agriculture laws and cancel the amendments to the workers' laws immediately.
