Prakasam police bust interstate ganza racket

Ongole: The Prakasam district police announced that they have nabbed a gang of three members, who are transporting a huge quantity of illegally procured ganza from Visakhapatnam rural to Tamil Nadu and supplying to various agents in the midway.

In the press meet held on Tuesday evening, the SP Siddharth Kaushal announced that they are keeping a strict vigil on the movement of drugs and other narcotic components in the district and put round the clock surveillance on the two national highways and three state highways passing through the district. He said that on Tuesday morning, CI of Inkollu R Rambabu, SI of J Panguluru V Mahesh and their staff conducting vehicle checks at Kondamanjuluru village check post and stopped a Bolero vehicle with registration number AP31DM 5131. Seeing the police approaching, three persons travelling in the vehicle started to ran away but were chased and nabbed by the police team.

He announced that the Inkollu police caught Periya Karuppan Anandan, Perumaldevar Eswaran, Jayaram Rajesh Kumar, all are natives of Kambham village in Theni district in Tamil Nadu and found that they are transporting 200 KG of ganza, in the vehicle with concealed shelves under seats, rooftop, engine chassis and other places. He said that the accused confessed that they procured the ganza at Darakonda, a habitat in Agency are in AOB.

The SP announced that the Jayaram Rajesh Kumar is accused in a number of similar cases in various police stations. He warned that they are suspecting that there will be more members in the organized ganza racket that spread its tentacles from Vizag to Chennai, Bengaluru and towards Odisha. He announced that the chief minister ordered them to not spare any person involved in the drug peddling and asked the locals to inform them about the suspicious activity of selling ganza or any other drugs at schools, colleges, shops, bus stops etc, for strict action on them.

The SP Siddharth Kaushal appreciated the Chirala DSP Y Jayarama Subbareddy, Inkollu CI R Rambabu, SB-II CI N Srikanth, CCS CI G Ramarao, J Panguluru SI U Mahesh and others for their contribution in busting of the racket.
