Prakasam: Wife held for killing husband with help of lover in Darsi town

In a horrific incident took place in Darsi mandal of Prakasam district, a woman along with the lover killed her husband and tried to portray it as a suicide. The accused pleaded guilty after the actual matter was revealed during the trial. DSP K Prakash Rao revealed the details of the case at a press conference on Tuesday. According to DSP, Chennupalli Srinivasa Rao (45) and Saida Lakshmi, a couple from Santhamaguluru work as labourers. In this backdrop, she got acquainted with Nallagangula Venkat Reddy, an auto driver from Jonnalagadda village of Narasaraopeta mandal in Guntur district 18 months ago. Gradually it turned out to a illicit relationship.

The relationship has led to the frequent quarrels in the house as the husband found the matter and repeatedly rebuked her to mend her ways. With this, she along with her boyfriend plotted to end her husband.

On the night of the 25th of this month, Srinivasa Rao got drunk and got into a fight with his wife and later he slept at home. According to the plan, Saida Lakshmi caught hold of her husband's legs while the other accused killed her. She later tried to portray it as a suicide.

The Santhamagaluru S in Inspector registered a case as per the complaint of the deceased's younger brother Chennupalli Veeraiah. Srinivasa Rao is said to be murdered based on the postmortem report. Accused Saida Lakshmi held helself guilty and was arrested on Tuesday and produced in court. DSP Prakash Rao explained that SP Siddharth Kaushal congratulated the investigating officer, Addanki CI I Anjaneya Reddy, SI T Siva Narayana, Head Constable Suresh Reddy and Mastan Reddy for their efforts in resolving the case.
