Prakash Yatra leaves for Vizag

Vijayawada: The Guru Nanak Dev's 'Prakash Yatra' which started from Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Sahib, Bidar, Karnataka arrived in Vijayawada on Friday and left for Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The Yatra is meant to spread the message of Guru Nanak Dev's humanity.

Retracing Guru Nanak's journey and with an aim to spread the message of humanity given by him, the country wide yatra had commenced on June 2. Sikhs and people from other communities as well, welcomed the yatra near Kaza toll plaza and participated in a procession to Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Nagar.

Nagar Kirtan was also organised by the Sikh community from Gurudwara to Ramvarapaddu Ring to see off the Yatra. City police commissioner Ch D Dwarka Thirumula Rao, and KS Jawahar Reddy, Principal Secretary, Health Medical and Family Welfare, ACP Special branch Rajeev Kumar, ACP Chenchi Reddy, BJP State President Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and others were present.
