Prakasham District Candidates Files Petition In High Court On Sachivalayam Recruitments
The recruitment process Gram and Ward Secretariat posts in Andhra Pradesh government have ended. A total of 1.26 lakh jobs in various departments have been notified, and written exams have been conducted. The eligible candidates were selected on merit basis and handed over the recruitment papers. However, some candidates allege that these posts were manipulated during the process.
The reserved category candidates in the merit filed suit in the High Court stating that the candidates are not recruited in open category. A. Satish of Prakasam district and a few other candidates approached the High Court.
Justice T. Rajani, who was hearing the case, said in an interim order that the appointments would be subject to a final ruling by the court. Further, the respondents were ordered to file an affidavit by issuing notices. The next hearing is postponed to November 4.
From October 2, the village and ward secretariat system came into force and selected 1.1 lakhs employees. But the government issued notification for 1.26 lakh jobs, 25 thousand posts were leftover.
Officials are working on the recruitment of these posts. The government will soon report to the government with details of these vacancies. Out of the 39,176 jobs in the six categories, only 18,217 candidates were eligible. The remaining 20,959 posts remain vacant. If the government recruits the remaining vacancies by lowering the eligibility marks, more candidates will benefit. Besides, there were over 25 thousand vacancies due to the candidates opting for other jobs.
