Anantapur: Anantha Lakshmi International School had their pre-Sankranti Celebration before the Pongal holidays on January 9 at the school premises maintaining social distancing. The day started off with a speech on Pongal by the School Chairman M Anantha Ramudu. He addressed the gathering and evoked the spirit of Pongal in each student by sharing the message of love and building strong relationship with their elders. The students were dressed in traditional attire and danced gracefully on Pongal-themed songs.

An earthen pot was placed on fire with traditional fanfare. Sweet Pongal was made and cows were fed bananas. Every moment was enriching for the kids who were able to witness the typical Pongal celebrations through video conference. The guest of honour M Ramesh Naidu was highly impressed by the presentation. He appreciated the teachers for their efforts to train the students and the initiative to introduce the children with the traditions at school. The school management along with the CAO of the school P V Narasimha Rao and all teachers took part in kite flying at the end of the programme.
