Provide facilities to voters, officials told

Vijayawada: Eluru parliamentary constituency general election observer Dev Dutt Sarma ordered the officers to provide basic infrastructural facilities to the voters at the polling stations. He said that ramps and wheelchairs should be made available to the physically challenged voters.

He conducted surprise visits to the polling stations at Sunkolu, Yenamadala, Aagiripalli villages under Nuzvid constituency. He said that electricity, drinking water, toilets, internet and phone facility should be provided at all the polling stations.

For the blind, facilities should be provided as per guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission. He further said that ideal place for installing the EVM and VVPAT machines should be identified well in advance. All arrangements should be made for the voters to cast their vote without any inconvenience.
