Ragging spoils students future: SP

Tadepalligudem: West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh Grewal has advised students not spoil their future by indulging in acts of ragging.

H participated in an anti-ragging programme, where he was the chief guest, organised at YSR Agriculture University in Venkataramannagudem of Tadepalligudem mandal on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Superintendent of Police told the students to stay away from such heinous acts of ragging as earlier some students committed suicide because of it.

The agony of parents of ragging victims was difficult to explain, if their wards commit suicide, the SP said and warned the students of stern action under the law if the juniors were subjected to ragging or harassment. Ragging causes deep mental distress among the students, he added. The SP planted saplings on the premises of the university on the occasion.
