Raids conducted at Railway stations, 3.6 lakh seized
Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Railway Division has conducted raids at Tenali and Ongole sections on Thursday and achieved earnings of Rs 3,61,475 by registering 787 cases, according to K Kamalakara Babu, Assistant Commercial manger.
With a team squad of TTEs and RPF police, they conducted the bus raid starting from Chirala Railway station, covering Appikatla, Tenali and Ongole stations during the check.
Male passengers found travelling in the ladies compartment and several unauthorised passengers travelling in the Divyang Jan coaches were evicted from the coaches during the check. As many as 583 cases of irregular travel were identified and a penalty of Rs 3,05,705 was raised in the check.
A total 21 trains, including two special trains and five passenger trains were checked with a staff of 35 squads TTEs and RPF personnel under the supervision of K Kamalakara Babu.
