Rain brings much needed relief to Port City

Visakhapatnam: The Port City witnessed heavy rainfall on Monday. With the sudden change in the climate conditions, the Vizagites got a huge sigh relief from the scorching heat and enjoyed the Monday with dark cloudy sky, squally winds followed by good rain in almost all the areas. With temperatures recording 40 degrees Celsius, the people suffering from a heat disorder.

Enjoying the pleasant atmosphere, the people came out from the concrete walls and enjoyed the cool breeze and rain. Heavy rain witnessed in some parts of the city including MVP Colony, Pendurty and Madhurawada accompanied with strong gales.

Meanwhile, a scientist from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there was no specific reason for sudden change in the climate. Normally, in the peak-summer and due to local phenomena, such rains would occur, the scientist said. As the summer season is almost concluding, the district would likely to witness lightning and thundershowers in the next one-week, the IMD scientist added.
