Rain throws life out of gear in Guntur city

Guntur: Normal life came to a halt on Sunday following heavy rains in the city. With rainwater stranded on the busy Brodipet Main Road, Amaravati Road, Arundapet, GMC Office Road, near RTC Bus Stand, Swarna Bharati Nagar, RK Puram, A T Agraharam and Mallareddy Nagar Roads traffic came to a halt at many junctions causing inconvenience to pedestrians and commuters.

Several colonies lying under the sheet of two feet level water. The rains caused severe inconvenience to vehicle riders in Brodipet, Amaravati Road and near flyover bridge at Brodipet as water overflowing on roads.

At several areas, the corporation dug up roads to lay underground drainage pipelines and after completion of work, the roads were not properly restored, which is causing a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians and vehicle riders.
