Rains lash Vizianagaram district

Vizianagaram: The people of Vizianagaram district heaved a sigh of relief from scorching sun as many areas have received rains accompanied with thunder storms and gales on Saturday. Bobbili, Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram and agency mandals Kurupam, G L Puram have received a rain bring down temperatures.

People of the district are not dared to come out of their homes between 9 am and 4 pm as the temperatures touching 40+ degrees Celsius. Farm officials said the sudden rain will be useful for summer crops like vegetables and tills. The showers would provide some moisture to soil and plants can be survived for one more week without water, they said.
