Raise issue of expert panel on capital in Parl: Naidu to MPs

Guntur: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday wondered as to how Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy could constitute an experts committee on State capital, Amaravati, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone.

Addressing the TDP Parliamentary Party meeting at his resident in Undavalli in Guntur district, Naidu exhorted the MPs to highlight the issue during Parliament sessions. The meeting was called for devising a strategy to be adopted during the sessions to held from November 18.

Speaking on this occasion, he said the State government had stopped Polavaram Project construction works. similarly, development works had come to a grinding halt. He urged the MPs to ensure that the Centre releases funds for AP.

The meeting also discussed strategy to be adopted on abolition of Article 370, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court judgment on Ramajanma Bhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute, common civil code, fulfilling of promises mentioned in the State Bifurcation Act, the State government's move to start English medium from 1 to 6th class from the next academic year.

He asked the MPs to highlight how the State government is stifling the voice of media and practising politics of vendetta against ABN channel, attacks on journalists and registering cases on comments on social media.

He urged the MPs to explain suicides of building workers and how YSRCP government harassing the TDP activists and deteriorating the law and order situation in the state to the Centre. TDP MPs Galla Jayadev, Kesineni Nani, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, K Ram Mohan Naidu, TDP State president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao were among those present.
