Rajamahendravaram: Pantham Satyanarayana Charitable Trust chairman and local channel managing director Pantham Kondala Rao has said that noted cine artiste SV Ranga Rao brought name and fame to Telugu film industry with his action and proved himself in many international festivals also.

Paying rich tributes to SV Ranga Rao at his statue in connection with his 102nd birth anniversary celebrations on Godavari bund here on Friday, he said the actor was an asset to Telugu film industry. The audience used to enjoy his dialogues in the films and many came to watch the movies if SV Ranga Rao acted in them.

But, the government not recognised him properly and demanded that the government keep his memories by taking up some project. The statue of SV Ranga Rao was erected on Godavari bund which is the long-cherished desire of the people of this area. Jana Sena Party (JSP) state official spokesperson Kandula Durgesh said when compared with others, the great artiste not received awards though he mesmerized the audience with his action.

YSRCP leader RSP Rao, film distributors association president Challa Shankar Rao and Mandela Srirama Murthi and others were present.
