Rajamahendravaram: Gammon bridge repair works to be completed by December 25

Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram said that Gammon India bridge repair works, which were started one month ago, will be completed by December 25.

Along with an engineering special team member Sanjay Mishra of Mumbai and with the officials, he inspected the progress of ongoing repair works here on Monday.

Later, he said that the bridge will be named after former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy. After beginning the works, the tollgate income increased to Rs 9 lakh as against of Rs 2 lakh before starting the repair works.

About 5,000 units of Eleswaram gravel were being used in the repair works and on Kovvur side repair works also be taken up in second package and RGBL company came forward to take up the works.

He alleged because of TDP government, the approach roads were damaged and the bridge was in bad shape. The distance between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada will be reduced by 50 to 60 kms, he added.
