 People complain of delayed services at Aadhaar centres

Rajamahendravaram: Aadhaar card is essential now a days to get government welfare schemes and for personal works. As part of it, the people are thronging Aadhaar centres to get new cards besides effecting changes in the existing cards.

Aadhaar centres were finding it difficult to receive applications of Aadhaar cards on the same day and issuing tokens for one week to avoid rush. As many as 34 Aadhaar centres have been set up in Rajamahendravaram division. They were issuing 200 to 300 cards and rectifying lapses in existing cards.

From July, 7,000 persons availed the services of Aadhaar centres. At present in Rajamahendravaram, Aadhaar centres were working in

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) office, head post office, along with post offices at Alcot Gardens, Symala Nagar, Aryapuram and Dowleswaram.

About 50 Aadhaar cards were being issued in head post office and Syamala Nagar post office and 30 cards in Alcot Gardens post office.

Meanwhile, many people were expressing displeasure for the delay in issuing Aadhaar cards and demanding to open more centres to avoid inconvenience to them.
